Zak Cole is an Ethereum protocol engineer and serial entrepreneur. He is founder of the Ethereum Community Foundation and CEO of Number Group, a Web3 venture studio. His previous companies include Slingshot Finance, Code4rena, and Whiteblock, all successfully acquired. A Marine Corps veteran and former Google engineer, he authored EIP-6968 and created $BETH, an immutable token representing provably burned ETH.

Zak Cole is a protocol engineer and entrepreneur focused on building critical Ethereum infrastructure. As founder of the Ethereum Community Foundation and CEO of Number Group, he leads development of next-generation blockchain technologies. His track record includes founding Slingshot Finance (DEX aggregator), co-founding Code4rena (which has secured over $100M in bug bounties), and founding Whiteblock, whose research famously proved EOS wasn't a blockchain. All three ventures were successfully acquired.
Currently, Cole is developing Blobkit, a TypeScript SDK that allows users to leverage Ethereum blob space for arbitrary data storage, and $BETH, an immutable ERC-20 token representing provably burned ETH. He also co-founded 0xbow, focusing on privacy-preserving DeFi infrastructure, and Privacy Pools, which enables compliant privacy solutions.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq (2007-2008) and former Google engineer, Cole brings both technical depth and operational experience to Web3. He authored EIP-6968 (Contract Secured Revenue), a standard for sustainable protocol funding, and has contributed to major projects including Corn and Canto.
